About
Isabella Yannoni
Hi! My name is Isabella. I’m a student midwife, birth doula, and mom to one based in Philadelphia PA. I first became enthralled with birth work through the stories of powerful birth told by my mom and the community of mothers who raised me. I saw my first home birth at 18, where I was in charge of the older sibling, and was amazed and fascinated! I fell in love with the anticipation and coziness of that birth; and the calm confidence of the midwives. It inspired me to embark on my doula journey in 2019.
Attending births in hospitals, birth centers, and homes as a doula has been an education in the great need for midwifery care in all birth settings. I see over and over that the birth of a baby is a deeply transformative event, and respect for bodily autonomy and true care for the family are vital for building healthy communities.
After the home birth of my son (with Magpi!) in 2024, the call to midwifery sounded. I began studies at Midwives College of Utah and started working as a birth assistant in Fall 2025. I am constantly amazed by the power of birth givers as they bring their babies into the world, and believe wholeheartedly in the capabilities of the birthing body.
Outside of birth work I love to spend time in nature, and am especially happy hiking and swimming! I also find great joy in the process of making, including cooking, baking, knitting, and sewing.
